Why do I bite my cheeks every time I get anxious?

August 11th, 2011
Q.

Hi Simon, I know this isn’t really a dental phobia question but every-time i get stressed or anxious I begin to chew and bite the insides of my mouth, mostly the insides of my cheeks. I’av done this for as long as I remember but really need to stop doing as the inside of my mouth is rather a mess. My dentist keeps warning me to stop but doesn’t give me any advice, so hopefully you could, thanks

I have bad tooth decay but too scared too go to the dentist, help?

August 10th, 2011
Q.

i would like your professional opinion please , I have very bad tooth decay, every tooth on my upper gum has it literally only one has not got it and its starting to show early stages of tooth decay, but my bottom teeth are fine at the moment. i really need to see a dentist urgently as I haven’t seen one for over 3 years now due to being scared , I have bad dental phobia , once I’ve been to the dentist what would they do to fix my teeth?
Would they give me implants, or false teeth, or just leave me without any teeth, and is it possible to take gas and air to put you to sleep whilst they do it all?
Thanks alot

Bulimia wrecked my teeth, what do I do now?

August 4th, 2011
Q.

Iam 21 and have terrible teeth, someone 99 probably has better looking teeth than me, it really affects my everyday life and makes it unable to talk to people. I have a extreme phobia of the dentist due to bad experiences as a young child, meaning I haven’t been in over 10years, also I had bulimia at school resulting in a mixture of these means I don’t have 1 nice tooth, since Iam only young I know my teeth will only get worse so please advice me on how to over come this fear because I know i need to act soon.

July 29th, 2011
Q.

Hi I suffered with bulimia for 4years during secondary school and now at the age of 21 my teeth are really showing the affects of my illness. Iv been on the road to recovery and doing really well. My parents have offered to pay to get veneers fitted to help boost my confidence but linked with my illness I have a huge phobia about things going in my mouth which makes me terrified of the dentist, do you have any tips on how to overcome this?
