Just wanted to say a belated but big thank you to Richard and his team. I had a tooth extraction in April of this year under sedation. The whole procedure from prior extraction to aftercare was exemplary the process was fully explained and my nerves were settled. I have no hesitation in recommending Richard and his team in allaying any fears you have of the dentist (I have many) and thank them once again for their caring nature, step-by-step explanation and overall kindness in dealing with such a scaredy-cat.

I joined York Place after reading their advert welcoming nervous patients & I can honestly say I have not regretted it. I now have two bridges fit over the gaps between my teeth that I have been self-conscious of for some time. Due to my anxieties I had the treatment carried out under sedation & from start to finish Richard & his staff put me at ease. I would recommend York Place to anyone who is nervous of visiting the dentist.

I have been a patient of Richard's for a few years now and have ALWAYS found him very professional but extremely sympathetic to my severe anxiety. He says I have the most worst gag reflex he has seen in a long while. So most treatment requires sedation which is absolutely wonderful. I know nothing about what is going on and do not suffer any side effects afterwards except being a bit sleepy on and off. I cannot recommend it highly enough. All the staff here are wonderful and kind and I cannot praise them enough. The practice has enabled me to commence dental treatment after a gap of about 10 years. Well done and congratulations to them all.

When i first came to York PLace Dental i was very very nervous, my heart was poundng out of my chest whilst waiting in the waiting room but my first visit with Richard made me feel as though everything was going to be ok. The trust was not there at first but every visit i came to my confidence grew slowly and by the end of my treatment i feel i can cope with dental treatment alot better i always know what to expect at each appointment as i am talked though everything step by Richard and the team. The dental nurses have also being great and i can not thank the whole team enough, my mouth feels better than it has ever been thanks to the hygiene team as well. Clean shiney healthy teath. Coping with a number of health problems meant I had had a break from visiting the dentist and my phobia had got more of a hold. I found York Place and recommendations online and made my first appointment. I found all the staff welcoming and professional. Richard put me at ease and I felt confident that he would only do what we had agreed. I needed one extraction and one filling and decided I would need sedation this time. The process was very positive and pain free and everything has healed well. I have now made an appointment with the hygienist and am confident this will also be a positive experience. Richard has exactly the right manner for nervous patients and I am glad I've taken this step.

After Leaving my initial comments on here from my First visit 26/03/2014 which If you read will see that it took a HELL OF A LOT OF COURAGE !! I was there yesterday for a 3 HOUR Visit / Treatment and I have to say that I can NOT find the words to say just how FABULOUS The experience was from Richard and the WHOLE TEAM :) Seriously IF you have misgiving's about the Dentist this is the TEAM to turn your NEGATIVE into a GREAT BIG POSITIVE :):) Well Done guys and Thanks Again . I have a severe phobia of needles not just at the dentist - all needles. I become extremely anxious and put off treatment and work because of it. Richard has been my dentist since I was very young and has worked with me and my phobia throughout. He is incredibly patient despite my inevitable tears and tantrums at every appointment and he never makes me feel remotely silly or pathetic no matter how distressed I become. He understands my worries and tries his very best to find ways around them and ways to put me at as much ease as he possibly can. He always finds time for me and I never feel rushed or pressured. In fact it's not only Richard, it's the whole team at York Place that have patience and time for me. Despite being 25 and a crying mess every time I step foot over the door or often just when I even phone up they always treat me with genuine sympathy and truly understand that it is a genuine phobia which I simply can’t help. I could not recommend Richard and the team enough and would encourage anyone with or without phobias to use them. I will likely never completely get over my phobia but at least I know that when it comes to dental work I have a team that I can go to and feel reassured that they can help me and solve any problems I might have in a way that suits me and my needs and in as much of a pain free way as possible!

Having not been at the dentist for some 35 years due to a bad experience as a child at my previous dentist I found the very idea of entering a dentists a "no go" area However after looking at Richards website and in need of URGENT assistance I plucked up the courage to firstly contact them via e mail to explain my fears and previous horrendous dentist experience as a child . They responded extremely quickly , efficiently and from this I agreed to go and meet with Richard for an hour long consultation where we could both find out about each other and he could put at ease my worries and phobias which I have to say the whole team at this practice handle their patients with the upmost respect and courtesy in a total professional manner. I am going back for a three hour appointment to start my dental repair expedition but Richard and the whole team have managed to turn me around from my fears and I have to say I am actually looking forward to it and believe me that is one thing I thought I would never say in relation to a dentist so Thank You :)
