About Dr Dipesh Patel

Dr Dipesh Patel graduated from Sheffield University in 2004. After obtaining a clinical distinction in his initial dental degree, he started working in several dental practices around the North West of England and also spent some time at Manchester Dental Hospital, where he worked teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

In addition to his professional development, Dr Patel is also a member of the Royal College of Surgeons England.

In all of the treatments Dr Patel provides, he uses modern techniques, utilising technology to ensure a comfortable patient experience. After being held down as a youngster at the dentist, my relationship with this profession has been very poor. Previous to visiting Dipesh at Harwood, I had not been to the dentist for over 15 years! My daughter googled dentists sensitive to patients with phobias and following a chat with Dipesh on the phone, she booked me in. From the first visit, I was put at ease by all the staff and Dipesh was sensitive from the moment we met, never condescending and always ready to listen, if not curious how I felt. He NEVER pushed my boundaries and always listened to my fears and found alternative ways to achieve my goals. I am now happy to visit him for check ups and know that he will find a way forward for anything I need in the future. Following treatment, I am much happier with my smile but more importantly, my biggest fear in life is now manageable! Thank you Dipesh and Harwood, you have literally changed my life

I have had a dental phobia for many years, going back to a traumatic experience as a child followed by some poor treatment as a teenager after a sports injury. Over the years I tried a few times to visit a dentist but was not able to get through the door. This resulted in me having several problems with my teeth. I finally started looking into my phobia and came across this site and in particular Harwood Dental Care. From the moment of my first telephone contact I can only say that my experience has been great. I was ashamed of the state of my teeth and I was also embarressed that, as an adult, that I would get emotional even just walking through the door. Dipesh and his team are brilliant, there is no judgement just support and encouragement. Having had the initial assessment I have now started my treatment, I had sedation whilst some fillings were done along with a couple of extractions. The only thing I remember about the treatment was seeing a bright light, I do recall any sounds and felt no pain or discomfort at all. I would say to anyone reading this who has a dental phobia or are nervous about visiting a dentist that they should contact Harwood Dental Care. I am so relieved that finally I have started to deal with my phobia, I have further treatment planned and will require sedation but I am already feeling so much better, physically and mentally. Accepting I had an issue was the first step but I would not have been able to progress if it had not been for the help, support and understanding that I have received from Dipesh and his amazing team - thank you so much!

Don’t usually leave reviews but felt it was vital to do so for Harwood dental care. After many years of avoiding the dentist due to real phobia to everything to do with dental work I needed to see a dentist. I searched for a surgery that could deal with phobic patients and offer sedation. I found them and never looked back. I have been treated so well the time and effort all the team have offered me has been invaluable. There patience and caring attitude towards me has reduced my anxiety so much. I required seadation for even a teeth clean I was that scared, I was never judged by the team for being so anxious and scared and that was so important to me. I trust the team and now feel less anxious when visiting. If you are anxious/phobic this is the surgery to visit without a doubt. Thanks to all the team. Special thanks to Cath, Jessica, Lisa, Victoria, Vicky. Even bigger thanks to Vilas ( My Dentist )

After years of avoiding visiting the dentist because of bad experiences, my fear was huge. I found Harwood dental practice on line and read all the reviews. I then felt i could trust this dentist. I have just recently had some work done and i opted for sedation. From the moment i arrived everyone was so kind and caring, from reception staff through. I was terrified. Now i can honestly say that i was given top quality treatment and care. All the staff are fantastic. I will continue to go regularly from now and no longer with a sense of utter dread. Thank you to the whole team you have restored my confidence and i look forward to my smile times.

I attended some appointments at Harwood Dental Care earlier on this year and I am so impressed at the amazing care and treatment I received. I'd recently moved to the area and was partway through treatment with my last dentist when I left. I still needed a filling and a crown and was a bit anxious about going to see someone new as I'd been with my last dentist for many years. I needn't have worried at all. I saw Dipesh and he put me at ease straight away with his relaxed and friendly approach. He did an examination and x-rays initially and talked me through everything I needed, giving me various options for the types of filling and crown I could have. He explained everything clearly in a way I could understand and gave me quotes for different types of treatment. When I came to have the treatment I explained I wasn't too good with needles. Amazingly, Dipesh was able to make my teeth numb using a state of the art "wand" device, which meant no needles! I wish I'd known about this years ago! All I felt was a small scratch and pushing feeling on the gum right next to the tooth - nothing like the feeling of a needle. As soon as he'd finished, my tooth was numb - but without that horrible "fat face" feeling you get with normal injections. The treatment itself was completely painless - I even found myself dozing off part way through! After he had done the filling and prepared my tooth for the crown, Dipesh spent a long time and a lot of care in making me a temporary crown. It looked absolutely amazing, just like a natural tooth - better than my own tooth looked beforehand and even better than proper crowns I'd had made in the past! A week or so later, I had the permanent crown cemented in place. It looks and feels perfectly natural and my work colleagues have even complemented me on it! Some of them have signed up as patients there as well, based on my recommendation. I am so grateful to have found this dental practice. I would award more than five stars if I could! I honestly would recommend it to anyone and everyone. I know they do sedation there too, so nervous patients are well catered for and the wand device is great for people like me who don't like needles. Thank you to Dipesh and his team. I will definitely be coming again!

Thank you for adding your reivew. It has been sent to the Dental Phobia team and will be published shortly.
