Can I eradicate gum disease myself?

can i get rid of gum disease myself?I dont like people in my space and i dont mean hugging i mean genuinley poking around amongst other things? i think i have gum disease/gingivitis but really dont want to get the the dentist if i dont have to, the gums are slightly red and bleed quite easily. if i am really keen and use every potential resource available- brushing, flossing, mouth washing, putting toothpaste on my gum afterwards and leaving, not swilling after brushing etc could i get rid of it? thing is i dont now what the dentist will be able to do about it anyway- what would the dentist do if i went down there would he be performing surgery or injecting me or what? so if he cant do anything there and then and is only going to diagnose me then why dont i just not go and sort it myself?

Thank you for your question.
Certainly doing everything possible to improve your flossing, brushing and plaque control will help, but you do need to see a dentist for a proper assessment of your gum health. There’s lots that can be done to treat gum disease, so please don’t feel that help is not available.

I would advise you see your dentist as soon as possible so you can find out what is going on and how you can get your mouth healthy again. You probaly will need to see the dental hygienist and take it from there.

Best wishes,

Simon
