Can I have a general anaesthetic for root canal treatment?

Can I have a GA for my root canal treatment and ant subsequent treatment.i have a severe phobia of the dentist but desperately want to start appointments.and get mt teeth into good health,i don’t want to lose them.thank you.

Its not possible to have a GA in a general dental practice .
However you may be able to find a practice that would do the treatment under Iv sedation . I do this as does the specialist endodontist in my practice .
But we are in Central London and a wholly private practice .
Iv sedation would make it possible for you to have it done safely but you would be unaware of what was happening , and you can have other treatments as well .
For some of my patients they have a root canal done under sedation , then are able to move to lesser sedative options . That way their phobia diminishes as they find they are able to cope better than they expected .
