Can I Have Dental Treatment in a Hospital Under Anaesthetic?

Hi. I had root canal treatment a year ago. The pain was unbearable and I was told to go back a week later for more treatment. That was a year ago. I can’t make myself go back, I’ve always had a phobia of dentists but now it’s so bad I just can’t go. My teeth in the last 6 months have been so painful I can’t sleep. Can I go to the hospital and be completely knocked out, as I know I won’t have them sorted out and they are getting worse by the day.

I’m sorry you had such a horrible time.
You can be referred to a dental hospital, but they usually only extract teeth under IV sedation or a general anaesthetic. It’s very difficult to get fillings done under IV.
However, if you want to get rid of the tooth that you had the root canal on then that might be the best option for you. Hope this helps, Jenny.
