Do I really need another root canal treatment?
Hello, I went through a very traumatic root canal procedure a few years ago. They used local anaesthetic but even then it was still very awful and the pain afterwards was horrible. Furthermore, my dentist was very unpleasant. I’m worried now because the filling has cracked and the area surrounding the tooth is very, very sore! I really don’t want to have the tooth removed but I don’t want the canal treatment done because of last time and I’ve still got the same dentist. What should I do? Please help!

It may not be possible to retreat it with root canal , or it may have to come out
Retreatments are more likely to fail ,but also are less likely to be painful to have done as the nerve is already removed .
If this dentist gave you a painful time and was unpleasant , perhaps a change should be considered .
