How can I get over my fear of needles?

hello can you help me with my problem.  my teeth are in a really bad state, which is in part due to not visiting the dentist in the last 15 years. I haven’t attended the dentist due to my fear of needles, (which i think i am going to need with the damaged caused!) What can i do to deal with my fear and get the treatment i need doctor?

thank you

Well, the first thing to know is that a dentist will need to have a look at your mouth first and let you know what needs to be done. Therefore you could go along for a check up and talk to them about different ways of helping you, for example Cognitive behavioural therapy or sedation. If the dentist is not able to offer these services then ask him or her to refer you, or see your Doctor for referral to someone who can help you with your needle phobia. But first you need to have someone look at your mouth.

I hope this helps – good luck.

Simon
