I am 15 but too scared to go to the dentist
I am only 15 and haven’t been to the dentist in many years as I am terrified, however I have been experiencing pain in one of my upper back teeth for a day or so now and am so scared to go the dentist. Is there any advice or help you could give me?
I assume that you had an unpleasant experience at the dentist which is what has made you fearful now .
You need to weigh up the pluses of going to the dentist .
You may have tooth decay that will get worse and give you real pain , so that the treatment you need may not be so simple .
You will live with the worry about what you can only imagine is wrong .
Going to the dentist just means that a dentist can have a look , it doesn’t mean you have to have anything done , but at least find out what the situation really is .
Would either of your parents be going with you , as I think the dentist would need their consent to do anything any way .
In any case you should be consulted as to what you want to do.
Sometimes the fear is worse than the actual experience
