I am 15 years old and I am afraid of the dentist
Hi I’m 15 years of age and one of my molars is dead and is very sensitive. I have tried going to the dentist but I really can’t go it’s my worst fear but it’s starting to ache and I’m scared that if I don’t sort this out in the future I may be in a lot of pain. My question is where is the nearest hospital for me to get put to sleep to have it out? I am willing to pay for it but it would be good if it was free I live in Bristol. Thank you for your time Dr Pinder and I hope that you can help me.
Hello, there should be no need to pay for this .
There is a dental hospital in Bristol .
2 ways in
go to the emergency department if you are in pain . You may at least get some antibiotics .
Ask for being referred to their oral surgery department for an extraction with a view to having IV sedation.
Alternatively go to a dentist and ask for a referral to there .
Please be assertive about your needs and how you feel
