I can’t afford to pay for the conscious sedation treatment, what can I do?
I have been referred for Conscious Sedation by my dentist as I need a tooth extracted, which she says will need to be ‘cut out’ of my gum. I am an NHS patient but have received a cost of £325 for the procedure. I was aware it would be around the £200 mark, but this is more than i earn in a week, so I am going to struggle to pay this. Can I not get this done on the NHS or am I able to ‘shop around’ ? Is this about right price for this procedure? Thank you for any advice you can give me.
This sounds like it is a Private price , but Im not sure . Its not an unreasonable price for a private sedation and extraction .
Yes you can shop around , and you should ask the dentist if perhaps she could refer you to the dental hospital or local NHs facility that does Iv sedation .
You could ring your Primary Care Trust to find out where they have contracts with
Hope this helps
