I have a heart condition
Hi I’m a 34 year old female but was born with heart condition which I had surgery at 2 now I’m having 5 teeth taken out under sedation. Do. I need antibiotics my gp said I do but my dentist said I don’t. I’m just very confused here I am other wise very healthy person.
It depends on what your heart condition is ,
There are currently differing opinions as to whether this is necessary .They changed a few years ago and are now under review again
Your dentist will be up to date on the latest guidelines , but your GP may or may not .
If I have a patient who is under the care of a cardiologist then I always take their advice .
You seem to be stuck in the middle of differing professional opinions , so you need to ask your dr what guidelines he is following ( dont be afraid to ask )
