We know how daunting dental treatment can be. Our Dental Phobia certified experts are here to help ease your mind before treatment by answering your questions.

I have not visited the dentist for over 25 years due to dental phobia. Can you advise?

I have not been to the dentist for over 25 years due to my phobia. I have lost a number of teeth now and am becoming anxious and nervous about going to a dentist. My front lower teeth are turning black and obviously this will affect my appearance which also concerns me. Not sure where to turn as I also have serious concerns over costs.

Thank you for contacting me about your phobia. I would suggest you register with a local dentist, who will then be able to refer you to a local dental hospital for treatment to help with your phobia and to have the dental care you need.. This will mean you only pay travelling costs, but will have treatment by staff or students under supervision. The main thing is to have a dentist have a look and let you know where you go from here.
Best wishes – it sounds like this may be a new years resolution so I wish you every success.

Simon
