I have very bad toothache
Iv had really bad toothache where I have a filling, after ringing nhs line for two days running I finally got app in town today, dentist wasn’t very sympathetic when I told him I’d need sedation as I am really nervous hence toothache since before Xmas but too scared to see dentist, he told me I need root canal treatment but they didn’t do sedation, so referred me elsewhere to have the tooth taken out, I am a nhs patient in Liverpool and I am more nervous now than I was, any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Hello, Its very difficult to get root canal treatments done under sedation on the NHS , and a lot of dentists don’t offer this anyway , either NHS or Private .
Sometimes if a tooth is so decayed that it needs a root canal , the option to extract it might be a better one , particularly if you are very nervous and cant get sedation .
If you are sedated you wont be aware of what is happening , and the vast majority of people don’t remember anything about it .
Hope this helps
