My 11 year old daughter has a severe phobia of injections

Hi Jennifer
My 11 year old daughter has a severe phobia with injections. We have been informed by our dentist that she needs a filling in an adult tooth. She is too afraid to have a conventional filling. I have read with hope that sedation can be used to calm the patient; in addition a clever device called a wand is available which does not resemble a needle.Could you please recommend a dentist in central London who could help? Indeed are you able to help please? Regards. Joanne

Hello
yes Relative Analgesia, gas and air , twilight sleep , are all names for this type of sedation , and its very suitable for children like your daughter .
I do have this facility and the Wand , but I only treat adults and not children .You might find out who does this through your local Community dental service , or they might do that for her . Also you might get a referral to the Children’s department at either Guys Hospital or The Eastman .
I hope this helps
Jenny
