My old dentist who I trusted completely has left the practice, now what do I do?
Hi, I was always a little frightened of the dentist but I had a lovely dentist for years and he really cured me, he spoke to me during the treatments told me exactly what was happening etc and he was just fantastic. I found out that he was leaving a few months ago and was told that the new dentist would take care of me but when I went for a check up last week he was very blunt and he’s made me very frightened of going to the dentist again. He said I needed a filling so I have to go back for it but I’m suddenly petrified again, I’m not a confrontational person so I don’t know what to do about this irrational fear. Please help me with some advice, I really don’t know what to do. Thanks.
This is not an irrational fear .
You went to a person you trusted and like for several years, he got to know you and what your own particular needs are .
I had a similar feeling when my trusted GP left the practice , it was like a sort of a loss , and its taken me quite some time to settle with someone else that I like .
It may be that you have this procedure done by this particular dentist , or decide to try someone else , perhaps someone a friend or relative recommends .
Its your choice who you go to .
Hope this helps
