My son has aspergers what can I do?

my son age 14 has aspergers and is hyper sensitive to touch and pain , his last visit to the dentist resulted in 3 baby teeth being removed , he was hysterical and screaming , he refuses to go back i need ti find a more sympathetic dentist

Hello
Im so sorry your son has had this unpleasant experience .
Have you tried your local Community Dental Scheme as he would be covered by the special needs category .
Unfortunately NHS General Dental Practice can be a bit rushed and frantic , and your son may be better in a facilty where there is more time for people with special difficulties .
I hope you find a sympathetic person .
In the meantime its important to try to look at his diet . tooth cleaning and try to prevent cavities in the first place
Cut down on fizzy drinks and juices , look at the labels on food and choose low sugar options .
Use a fluoride toothpaste , and see if he would accept a simple inexpensive electric toothbrush .
Hope this helps
Jenny
