My son can’t tolerate the impression putty

My 10yr son has Autistic Specrum Disorder and needs to wear a brace (has crossover bite and tooth being pushed out) but at the assesment appointment we found he couldn’t tolerate the impression putty, he couldn’t tolerate the taste or texture, he was sick. We can try desensortising him to the putty but it is going to be very hard for him to do that as now he is scared of the putty. Can you give any other advice that the orthodontist could do or we could do. Thanks in advance

My son won’t go to the dentist

Hello Doctor,
I have a 14 year old son who refuses to go to the dentist at all. The last time he went he had to have a filling and he fainted after having the injection.
Since then he refused to go to the next dental check-up even thjough I grounded him etc, took away his computer privilages and now I just don’t know how I can get him to go to the dentist. I realise this is probably due to the bad exoerience he had the last time but he will not talk about it and gets very angry if the topic is brought up and shuts himself in his bedroom. Is there any advice that you can give me to get him to talk about it or any place I can take him where they can treat him without needles? I really don’t know what to do anymore. Please help.

I cannot handle any more injections

Hello Dr,
I recently had some fillings and a tooth extraction and then had an infection. It really affected me and I was in agony. I didn’t like the injections (I had about 10 at once) and it made almost my whole face numb. Are there any treatments available where I dont have to have an injection? If I wanted to change dentist would this be possible and how do I find a good dentist that offers alternative treatments where I live?
I need another filling I think but I didn’t go to my appointment because I couldn’t handle having more injections or pain. Thank you for your time.
