Can I get the check up and treatment done in the same appointment?
I have a case of dental phobia and would like to know how effective sedatives are, If they are used then will i still need to have an injection to numb the pain? would I be able to get a check up and treatment done in one appointment? as i dont think i could manage to go back twice ??!!

Sedatives are extremely effective, and depending on how they are given they can allow the dentist to carry out treatment easily. You still need to have the injections but the sedative is so effective that you are not bothered.
It may be possible to do a check up and treatment at the same time. However, it would be impossible for the dentist to know what you need done without doing the check up first, so it would be better from them to have a look at you and give you an idea what treatment you need done, costs etc first.
