I am in pain when I brush my teeth

I currently attend an nhs dentist and need quite a few fillings and a tooth pulled, i know my teeth are in very bad condition part of this my fault as they throb like mad when i brush them but the dentist i see is quite nasty about my teeth condition. Ive been needing treatment for nearly a year now and due to other health issues have been unable to attend the dentist. I do want the treatment as i cant stand the pain of throbbing gums and loose teeth every day but im anxious as i feel my dentist will judge me. Also after fillings etc my teeth are in alot more pain than they where before and this is putting me off too.

Hello
The main thing is that you need some treatment badly .
Is it possible that you are making an assumption that your dentist is judging you , or that they are being nasty ?
Whether they are actually judging you is not relevant to getting the treatment done , how would you find a dentist who you felt was not judging you ?
Sometimes when people leave holes till they are very deep , then its more likely that they may hurt after being treated , so getting this treatment done as soon as possible is a good idea .
It might also be a good idea to take some pain killers before the appointment so that they can work when the anaesthetic is wearing off .
But well done for trying to deal with this
