I cannot get over my childhood dental phobia
Hello I am 54 and have an extreme phobia about dentists, I am ashamed to say I have several broken teeth and at this present moment I have raging toothache in one of the upper back ones. This phobia goes back to my childhood when I was treated by the school dentist who was unkind and rough with me. I live near andover hants and need some help finding a dentist who will be kind to me.
Hello
perhaps you could look at www.dentalfearcentral.org , where there is a great forum and other resources to help someone like yourself .
You may be able to find a dentist on there that another phobic has been helped by .
You could get help from an emergency dentist , perhaps just to get a diagnosis and perhaps some pain killers or antibiotics while you look for the right person.
Or you could google , sedation dentist in your area , often dentists who offer sedation are more sensitive to patients fears .
Hope this helps
