My 13 year old son is scared of having his tooth extracted
My 13 year old son needs to have a tooth extracted but he is petrified!! They have tried unsuccessfully using gas and tried to sedation using a needle with no luck – would oral sedation be an option? We are based in Herefordshire
Im sorry your son is having a hard time .
It sounds as if having needles is a problem for him , as well s the idea of an extraction .
You could try Oral sedation but I dont think that would be the answer as if he is afraid of needles then he would still not tolerate the needle ,
This kind of sedation doesnt work well with teens .
You should see if he could be referred to a local hospital or birmingham Dental Hospital ( if thats the nearest to have a General Anaesthetic . Your local Community Dental Service should be able to help with this
