Normal drugs don’t help, what can i try next?
Hi, I have a dental phobia due to the main reason that I think because have a very overactive gag reflex. Every time the dentist puts anything in my mouth i feel sick and begin to heave. The dentist has tried to help but drug commonly used in sedation does not relax me enough and I am desperate to have some work done, as I have started to get black spots and could really do with getting some fillings before my teeth get really bad. How can I get over my fear of needles for my root canal?
hello doctor,
i have never liked the dentist at all! and after a recent visit my dentist tells me that i need root canal treatment, which i know will involve needles. I really, really hate needles and i wonder if there are any options for helping me deal with the pain of needles? I know that i need the treatment but just the thought of a massive needle sticking into my gum just makes me feel physically sick!

Where can I find sedation for my area?
Hello there, I am very very very frightened of dentist I havnt been since I was younger and I’m now 24 my teeth are in a mess but I just can’t find the courage to go to the dentist or even ring them but my teeth are really getting me down .. I have nightmares about them and about going to the dentist, it’s constantly on my mind … Could you offer me any advice or any place in Nottingham that deals with phobic patients i think I may need to be put under sedation to have any treatment

Can the WAND help cure my fear of injections?
Hello Doctor,
I just wanted to ask a question about injections and in particular the WAND. My phobia stems from my fear of needles and I know if i could overcome this fear then I would be much happier with my dental health. I have heard of the WAND and it seems like a really good option for people like me but I just wondered do you know any clinics who use it in the North West? I am originally from Manchester but if I had to travel for treatment I definitely would.
I am not in the best of oral health and think that two teeth in particular need to come out, but of course you need an injection to do that, so any information you could give on a local dentist who could help with my dental problems and phobia would be really, really appreciated!
